KNOWIE FAQ – SUPPORT
How does the game work?
Knowie starts out by having all the participants fill out a questionnaire. When the game begins, the participants will get the chance to get to know each other based on the questionnaire and 5 different gamification types.
Based on the questionnaire and how well you are doing throughout the daily challenges, you will receive statistics and feedback that is unique for your team.
Knowie is played online via internet browsers and works on both desktop, tablet and mobile.
Is there an english version of Knowie?
Do I pay per challenge or by subscription?
You only pay for the given challenge that you want to play. Knowie does not setup automatic payments and do not store any credit card information about you.
How do I pay?
After you have created a user and typed in your colleagues email adresses, you can press "to payment". You can pay securely with the most common payment options. Your invitations will be sent after the payment have been verified.
Do I need to buy the game the same day we want to start playing?
No you don't. You can buy the game and invite your colleagues to a game of Knowie and then start the game whenever you want. It can be a good idea to buy the game some time before you want to start the game. This way your colleagues will get enough time to fill out the questionnaire and you increase the likelyhood that your are all ready by the time you want to start the game.
Can I buy more than one game at the time?
Yes, you can. But you need our help through either phone, chat or email support. If you want to purchase several games at once, we will send you payment instructions by email, where you can pay safely by card for all games at once. You will then receive a code, which can activate your games.
What do we need to do, before the game starts?
Before the game starts, you need to make sure that all your colleagues have received their invitations and filled out their questionnaire. As admin of the game you have an overview of who has and has not filled out the questionnaire.
We send all the information the participants need by email, but it is often a good idea to inform them that they should keep an eye out for the invitation from Knowie.
Why have I not received an invitation like my colleagues?
We do everything we can to ensure that our invitations reaches your inbox. However it's not completely up to us - it might get caught in your spam/promotion filter or become blocked by your organizations firewall.
If you can't find the invitation anywhere, you can always go directly to app.knowie.dk and create a user with the same email adress that was invited. After you have created your user, your game will be right there, waiting for you!
Why do we need to fill out a questionnaire?
The game is based on the answers that you provide in the questionnaire. It makes it possible for Knowie to deliver a game that is as relevant and useful as possible for you and your team. The data you provide will be stored safely, treated in accordance to current GDPR regulations and will only be used to facilitate your game.
How do I find the questionnaire again?
If your invitation to Knowie has gotten lost or if you did not finish filling out the questionnaire, you can always go directly to https://app.knowie.dk/en/login and click on the game you have been invited to.
If your game has not yet been started, you will get straight to the questionnaire again.
How can we get the most out of Knowie?
Knowie is a really fun game and the bigger a commitment you get from your team, the better the game gets. Therefore, it is a good idea to set the expectations together with your team, before the game startes. Here are our best tips for you:
- We provide all the needed information to the participants upon invitaion, but do not hesitate to send your team an email yourself. Your colleagues naturally trusts an email from you more and helps to make sure that the invitation from Knowie does not get overlooked or thrown away.
- The admin of the game will throughout the game be able to see who has not yet completed the given days challenge and they will also get a reminder to complete the challenge themselves, one hour before the day ends. It's a good idea to give them a tap on the shoulder and remind them that it really does not take more than 5 minutes.
- Talk about the game, while you are playing the game! You can ask what your teammates think about the game, the score and what other thoughts Knowie have provoked, when the opportunity presents it self during lunch or a coffee break.
When does the game start?
The game starts when you as admin manually start the game from your admin panel. The game will not start automatically. Day 2-5 will start automatically at 08.00 am each morning (CET - Copenhagen time).
When is the best time to start the game?
It is a good idea to take into account that the game is played over the course of five days and when you want it to end. If you want to use the game as a warm-up for an event, you can calculate backwards from the date of the event and figure out when you should start the game. If you want the game to only be played during working days, you should remember to check the "pause the game during weekend" box, when you create your game.
Is it possible to play all challenges in one go?
Yes, you can. As admin you can trigger the next day manually, when you want. In the admin panel you also have an overview of who has completed the current days challenge. This can help you to not trigger the next day before everybody has the chance to complete the current one.
Note: If you choose to play the entire game in one day you will not receive any emails. You need to keep an eye out on the statistics in the app yourself.
When does the challenges start each day?
The challenge of the day always starts at 08.00 AM (CET - Copenhagen time), except day 1. Day 1 will start when your admin starts the game. It is a good idea to not start the game to late in the day, as that leaves the participants with little to no time to complete day 1.
When does the challenges end each day?
The challenges ends at 10 PM (CET - Copenhagen time) each day. The admin will get an email one hour before the day ends, with an overview of who has and has not completed the challenge of the day. It gives them the possibility to remind people to play.
The participants also receive individual emails one hour before the end of the day to remind them to complete the challenge of the day.
How do Knowie calculate scores in the game?
You can earn a score from 0-100% each day. Your individual score will be calculated by dividing the number of correct answers with all possible correct answers. We calculate your teams enitre score the same way.
Your score across all days is calculated by an unweighted average of each days score.
What happens if a participant does not complete one or more challenges?
If an invited colleague has not filled out the initial questionnaire when the admin starts the game, this player and the respective data, will be removed from the game.
If a participant has answered the initial questionnaire, but does not complete a daily challenge in time, the game will continue without any changes. The average score for the player and team will be penalized with a 0% score for that player and day. The players data will be available for other players to play against.
A participant who does not complete the daily challenge of the day, can still participate in the rest of the daily challenges.
Why don't I receive the emails that my colleagues do?
We do everything we can to make sure that our emails reaches your inbox. But from time to time, they unfortunately wind up in your junk/spam mail. So please have a look in your junk/spam mail or talk to your IT department.

What do I do if I have forgotten a person or accidently sent an invitation to the wrong emailadress?
If you have typed in the incorrect email adress on one or more participants, you can still edit the email adresses as admin in the game, until you start the game.
If you have forgotten to invite a colleague, you need to contact our support for assistance.
Why does the game not load?
It can be an issue with your browser. Knowie support the majority of browsers, but does not support deppricated browsers such as Internet Explorer, that Microsoft has phased out. If you are playing from another browser and still experience issues, try to delete your browser history and cookies. If you still experience issues, please contact us on chat or email.
What about GDPR?
Why can't I see the game that my colleagues can?
If you have created a user and can't see the game that you have been invited to, please check that you have used the same email for your user as the one that was invited. If the email is the same, please contact our support and we will help you as soon as possible.
